The Map to the Territory

EnterpreneurCountry Forum is a day of inspirational talks and panel discussions designed to bring together innovative digital start ups (“Davids”) with established corporate enablers (“Goliaths”). Held at the prestigious Royal Institution of Great Britain since 2011, the event has seen numerous high-profile speakers share their business insights, among them Martha Lane Fox, Mike Lynch, Saul Klein, Theo Paphitis and Jo Malone.

On the 20th of March , The Entrepreneur Country Forum celebrated its biggest event yet and welcomed more than 500 entrepreneurs and investors to learn, network and engage with high profile speakers and business owners. The theme was ‘The Map To The Territory’ with a day of keynotes and panels to discuss how entrepreneurs can build big and expand the pie, how to grow the economy and how to generate as much wealth as possible. EntrepreneurCountry is not the new economy; it’s the new common sense. What’s happening today is happening from Cardiff to Cornwall, to Edinburgh to Dover, and yes in London and Brighton too. The future is not the past with improvements. It is fundamentally different, and what we know is that the future always arrives. Who wins, those who embrace it early. Why do we care? Wait late and a small group of people get wealthy. Embrace it collectively early, and prosperity rips through society, creating an expanding pie of wealth creation.

This year marked yet another selection of amazing speakers headed up by Bill Roedy, former Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks International where he and his team built from scratch a global operation of 200 channels, 20 brands (including MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central) in 200 countries. Bill delivered his keynote on the ‘Secrets of What Makes Business Rock’. He was joined by Rene Rechtman, President of International at Maker Studios, a Youtube production company that was acquired by Disney shortly after the event. His interactive and highly visual keynote focused on where video is going.

Other speakers included: Andrew Grill, Social Business, IBM, Sarah Eccleston, Cisco and Marcus Stuttard Head of AIM LSE.

The vibrant networking sessions featured a selection of exciting exhibitors with IBM, Dell, Santander, Crowdcube, InvestHK, and many more all in attendance.
